Consistency of Techniques

Sometimes when key frames can’t assist you or you are looking for a better look for your animation, hand-drawn animation comes to your aid. But it is also important to keep the consistency between key frames and hand-drawn animations.

01

ROUGH ANIMATION

Hand-Drawn Animation is Tough! But The Results are Amazing.

Well of course! You have to draw every frame, and for even a small plane, it’s too much! Especially if you are starting, like me, and the tools that you are using are cheap. The first thing that is going to make your life so better is to plan your animation, how many frames each action is going to get, something that I’m just new to it. But I make a rough animation. Plan everything and move and deform some stuff, move element one or two frames to get your desired timing and spacing. In that case, you can go to the next level

02

REFINED ANIMATION

It’s Time To Reconsider Some Frames.

Now you figured out the timing and spacing. You have to go back and fix some errors. When you did, you got to redraw every frame if necessary to get a smoother outline. Then you got to color it, and it is done.

In my case, that was only an element, like a rocket, or a camera. It was way easier. More elements, different coloring, they all going to take so much time and effort.
